The Pop Up Dance is about the routine turning into something weird. I tend to think most of baseball is weird. The nicknames, the baseball cards, the commercials, the announcers and of course, the routine pop ups that turn into adventures. There is nothing easy about baseball and seeing a grown man squirm around trying to wrangle a falling baseball is the epitome of everything I love about this game.

The content on this site is the combination of my background and my baseball interests. That background includes lifelong fandom of the Giants, a degree in advertising, my day job as a graphic designer, and countless hours of MLB The Show. All of this colors my baseball fandom and is exactly why this site is named after a casual phrase often said by the Giants announcer, Duane Kuiper, when a routine pop up turns weird.
